Senior Environmental Consultant

Location: Wicklow

Role / Position: Senior Environmental Consultant / Marine ScientistDue to the success and growth of Aqualicense Ltd, we are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our Aquaculture Team and play a leading role in the continued success and growth of the company. The successful applicant, who will report to the COO, will be based in our Wicklow office and will support the expansion of our environmental services in Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Chile, Canada and Faroe. Main Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will, amongst other things, be responsible for:

  • Project management and coordination of Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Appropriate Assessments, planning applicant’s documentation and other environmental reports.
  • Preparation of licenses, permits and annual environmental reports e.g. discharge licenses and foreshore licenses.
  • Reviewing and monitoring the implementation of Environmental Management Plans.
  • Provision of technical input to environmental assessment projects, including data collection and analysis.
  • Ensuring that the quality of deliverables is to a consistently high standard and ensuring that all deliverables are undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, best practice and verified with our in-house counsel.
  • Coordination of sub-consultants and sub-contractors contributing to projects.
  • External stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensuring the delivery of exceptional Client services.
  • Assisting in the preparation for tender submissions.
  • Assisting in business development.
  • Assisting in financial monitoring and budget management.

Qualifications and Expertise Required:

  • We are looking for a Candidate with the following knowledge, experience and attributes:
  • A postgraduate degree in environmental science or related discipline
  • Full membership of a relevant professional body
  • Significant experience in the areas of Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment
  • Specific experience in the management and coordination of aquaculture license applications and associated documentation is desirable.
  • Experience in Strategic Environmental Assessment.
  • Experience working in the marine sector.
  • Excellent report writing and technical reviewing skills
  • Excellent organisational, project management and coordinating skills
  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional client interfacing skills
  • Experience of engaging with external stakeholders
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude, willing and able to work as a team and motivate others.
  • Self-motivated, pragmatic and solution-driven

Secretary/Bookkeeper

Location: Rathnew/Arklow

Hours of Work: 9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday.

Role / Position: Secretary/Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, balance and analyse financial reports
• Process accounts payable and receivable
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers’
ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
• Prepare and manage invoices, tax forms and payments
• Manage payroll
• Enter data, manipulate data, analyse data and present data, in various forms
• Maintain all financial and administrative records
• Bring the books to the trial balance stage
• All administrative and receptionist duties
• Composing letters, emails and memos and completing forms
• Managing budgets, office supplies, business expenses
• Develop and implement lean office procedures
• Reporting to Management on a regular basis

Requirements:
✓ Proven data entry, record keeping, accounts and computing experience
✓ Excellent organisational skills
✓ Solid understanding of book-keeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
✓ Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
✓ Excellent data entry and data manipulation skills
✓ Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations
✓ Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and propriety software
✓ Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and accounting software packages
✓ Excellent written and oral communication skills
✓ Committed to maintaining organisational and customer confidentiality and integrity
✓ Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
✓ Working knowledge of project management software
✓ High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
✓ Skilled at multi-tasking, reliable, and committed to consistently meeting deadlines
✓ Appropriate academic qualifications
